Joseph Morgan

Graveside services for Joseph C. Jake Morgan of Hobbs, N.M., will be 10 a.m. Wednesday; June 18, 2008 at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Chapel with the Rev. Benny Greenlee officiating. Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday; June 17, 2008, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mr. Morgan, 79, died June 15, 2008, in Hobbs. He was born May 23, 1929, in Post, Texas. He married Claudette Connel Morgan on Sept. 17, 1951, in Hobbs, N.M.

Jake was a loving husband and father. He worked for more than 25 years at the Hobbs Wastewater Department. He loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife, Claudette Morgan of Hobbs; two sons, Steve Morgan of Hobbs and Gary and wife Melissa Morgan of Hobbs; a daughter, Pat and husband Derral Martin of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Glendora Gray Tolar of Texas and Joyce Stewart of Hobbs; eight grandchildren; and seven great -grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his sister and one brother, R.G. Gunn of Hobbs.
