Josefina Gutierrez

Funeral services for Josefina Gutierrez of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Apostolic Assembly, 1924 Oak St., with Pastor Cornelio Martinez officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

Visitation is 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Chapel of Hope.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gutierrez, 85, died November 8, 2009, at Odessa Medical Center in Odessa, Texas. She was born September 16, 1924, in Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico.

Mrs. Gutierrez enjoyed baking and spent many hours baking for church functions. She loved her family, especially the little kids. She attended Apostolic Assembly.

Survivors include a son, Javier Cortez of Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico; three daughters, Cruz Gallegos of Hobbs, Sixta Jurado of Hobbs, and Maria Elena Pando of Hobbs; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Josefina was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Gutierrez; a son, Jose Luis Gutierrez; and numerous brothers and sisters.
