Jonathan Michael Weldy

Jonathan Michael Weldy, 31 passed away on November 21, 2023, from injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident in Ropesville, Texas.

Jonathan was born February 22, 1992 in Hobbs, NM and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Hobbs High School class of 2010. His son was born in 2009 and will forever be his most loved "Buddy". He and Sierra became the proud parents of their baby girl, Oaklynn and quickly decided she would need a sibling to grow up with. They are expecting Braelynn Jon Weldy in May. He worked at Watson Hopper as a welder for several years. He was an avid hunter and loved to eat, sleep, and hunt in the mountains. He recently tagged a "Monster 4 point buck" on November 15, 2023 in Queen, NM accompanied by his life-long hunting partner, his Dad.

In the wake of this heart-wrenching loss, let us remember Jonathan Weldy for the love he shared, the joy be brought, and the impact he made on our lives. May we find solace in the memories we hold dear and draw strength from the lessons he taught us through his words and actions.

He is survived by his son Tristen Weldy, his fiancé, Sierra Navarrette, their daughter Oaklynn Weldy, his mother and father, Lana and Steve Weldy, his brother, Joshua Weldy and wife, Rachel Weldy and 3 nephews, Jaxon, Arrow, and Rhett, and a niece, McKenzie. Grandparents Lee and George Luetje and a bonus daughter, Haylee. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jane and Doug Weldy, Bill Little, great-grandparents Lavern and Bert Andress, and Mable and Willie Lee, and his aunt Martie Switzer.

When Jonathan and Sierra's baby girl was born in July, they were so kind and gracious. Jonathan was so grateful and said he would pay it forward when he could.
