Johnny Garcia

A funeral service for Johnny Ray JRay Garcia, 19, of Hobbs will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Choose Life Church, 810 W. Marland, Hobbs. Pastor Dean Shropshire will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. 7 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. noon Thursday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope.

Garcia died May 15, 2010 in Lubbock. He was born February 16, 1991, in Seminole, Texas.

JRay enjoyed being outside, playing basketball and sharing time with family and friends. He wanted to become a welder and was attending NMJC to attain that goal. He had a beautiful smile, was always happy and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Survivors include parents, Johnny and Christy Garcia of Hobbs brother Adran Garcia of Hobbs sister, Erriana Garcia of Hobbs girlfriend, Chastity Madrid of Hobbs son, Elijah Ray Garcia of Hobbs grandparents, James and Brenda Turner of Hobbs and Vicente and Alvesa Garcia of Hobbs and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

JRay was preceded in death by an uncle, Guadalupe Garcia in 2002 and an aunt and uncle, Raymond Carrasco and Diana Garcia.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bank of America in Hobbs.
