A memorial service for Johnnie Rogers Burnett of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2009, at Chapel of Hope Funshy;eral Home with Rev. Russell Hill, Vista Care Hospice Chaplain, officiating.
Cremation will take place. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mrs. Burnett, 69, died February 3, 2009, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. She was born January 13, 1940, in Colorado City, Texas. She married Charles Burnett.
Johnnie was a people person and enjoyed many friends. Her hobbies were crossword puzzles, traveling, decorating her home, travelshy;ng, reading and shopping. She loved her family and their famshy;ly gatherings.
Survivors include her husshy;land, Charles Burnett of Wichita Falls, Texas; her mother, Arvie Rogers of Hobbs, New Mexico; three sons, Duane Booker of Dallas, Texas, Rodney Lewis of Connecticut and Cedric Eagans of Hobbs, New Mexico; two daughters, Bonnie Rogers of Odessa, Texas, and Carla Patton of Hobbs, New Mexico; five brothers, Charles Rogers of Carlsbad, New Mexico, William A. Rogers of Indio, California, Jackie Rogers of Carlsbad, New Mexico, Larry Rogers of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Roy Dan Rogers of Carlsbad, New Mexico; four sisters, Sammie Batie of Lubbock, Texas, Becky Johnson of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and Brenda Wiley of Lubbock, Texas, and Ramona Moore of Carlsbad, New Mexico; numerous grandchildren and great-grandshy;children; and many extended family members.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Isaac Rogers, in November, 1998.
