J E went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 17, 2011. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2011, at Crosswinds Baptist Church, 1701 N. Jefferson, with Mick Cavanaugh and Jay Carey officiating. Visitation will be Friday, May 20, 2011, 8 a.m. 7 p.m. at Chapel of Hope with the family receiving visitors from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
J E was born April 3, 1937, in Altus, OK, to Eugene and Inez Garrison. He married the love of his life, Patsy, Pat Plumlee, on August 10, 1956, in Hobbs, NM, where they raised four children thus beginning the Garrison Clan. Family First Family Always was his motto. J E was an active member of NorthGate Freewill Baptist Church. He was an iron worker for G S Steel, Jordan Construction and Chaparral Builders, retiring in 1991. He then began his dream career as a Junk Dealer. If he could make a dollar, it was sold. His junk was second only to his family. He was an avid domino and card player and enjoyed nothing more than an afternoon game with his friend, Sim Bubba Levy.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Pat one son, Allen PeeweeCyndi Garrison of Hobbs, NM three daughters, BelindaBill Kays of Midland, TX, LezleyRichard Baum of Horseshoe Bay, TX, and CindyKen Ragland of Hobbs, NM 12 grandchildren and 24 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Inez Garrison and one greatgrandson, Payton Davis.
