Funeral services for Joe Mitchell of Hobbs, N.M., will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Vista Pointe Baptist Church, 301 E. Navajo, with Pastor Chris Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at Brshy;unson Cemetery in Eunshy;ice, N.M

Military honors will be provided by Fort Bliss, Texas, Honor Guard.

Mr. Mitchell, 60, died Jan. 15, 2008, at his home in Hobbs, N.M. He was born June 21, 1947, in Monahans, Texas. He marshy;ried Jean Stewart on Dec. 19, 1966, in Jal, N.M.

Joe worked for Amoco Oil Company for 30 years and 13 days. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing and his horses. His grandshy;son, Scooter, accompanied Joe as much as possible, Joe's greatest joy in life was his family, especialshy;ly his grandchildren. He was a member of Vista Pointe Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Mitchell of the home; two daughters, Jamie Mitchell and husband Richard Paul of Hobbs, N.M., and Jodie Wallace and husband Kevin of Hobbs, N.M.; two grandsons, Scooter Mitchell of Hobbs, N.M., and Jaxon Wallace of Hobbs, N.M.; a granddaughter, Justice Wallace of Hobbs, N.M.; his mother, Billie Marie Moore of Hobbs; N.M.; his brothers, Ricky and Darrell Mitchell of Jal, N.M.; and a sister, Sharon Searcy of Hobbs, N.M.
