Jo Britton

A funeral service for Jo C. Britton of Hobbs will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home. Pastor Wilber Boone will officiate.

Cremation will take place at a later time.

Visitation will be Monday from noon 5 p.m., Tuesday from 8 a.m. 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements.

Britton, 71, died November 5, 2010, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born April 17, 1939, in Brinkley, Arkansas. She married Luther Britton on January 7, 1954, in Clarendon, Arkansas.

She sang in church and in a band. She loved music. She was a homemaker and greatly loved her family.

She was of the United Pentocostal Church faith.

Survivors include her husband, Luther Britton of Hobbs two sons, Howard Britton and wife Leta of Carlsbad, and Tommy Britton and wife Dana of Odessa brothers Roscoe Moore of Kentucky and Buddy Moore of Roswell three sisters, Helen Creighton of Armstrong, Illinois, Francis Ellsworth of Niles, Michigan, and Billie Sewel of Belton, Texas nine grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Forrest Britton and Jimmy Lynn Britton two brothers and four sisters.
