Jimmy Richards

June 20, 1933 — March 21, 2013

Jimmy Joe Richards, 79, passed peacefully at his home on March 21, 2013. He was born June 20, 1933, in Chickasha, OK. He moved to Girad, TX, at the age of five, attending school. Jimmy enlised in the U. S. Army and was actively in service 3 years while stationed in Germany. He married Patricia Randolph April 28, 1957, at Belvue Baptist Church in Spur, TX. Together they had 5 children, Rhonda, Mike, Ronald, Regina and Ritchy and happily shared 55 years of marriage. Jimmy has six grandchildren with one more on the way, and one greatgrandson. He worked in the oilfield for many years before successfully starting Richards Backhoe Service in 1979. Jimmy officially retired from the backhoe business in 2010.
He is survived by his loving wife, children, two son and daughtersinlaw, one brother and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Ronald, sister and two brothers.
Jimmy loved his family, children and country and lived by the motto of just a friendly guy who will treat you right. He represents a generation of great men and will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held at Chapel of Hope Monday, March 25, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be Sunday, March 24, 2013, 1 6 p.m. and Monday 8 a.m. until service time at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements.
