Jimmy Rice

July 10, 1955 — August 8, 2011

Funeral services for Jimmy Rice will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2011, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Adams officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 8 a.m. 6 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. 8:30 a.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.

Jimmy died August 8, 2011, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. He was born July 10, 1955, in Seagraves, Texas, to Palmer and Nell Rice. He married Linda Bostick February 15, 1974, in Hobbs.

Rice loved his family, friends, family cookouts, hunting and troutline fishing. He had a special canine friend, J.R., eleven years old, who will miss him dearly.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Linda, of Hobbs a son Jimmy Rice, and wife Willow, of Tucson, AZ two daughters, Crystal Hamlett, and husband Cody, and April Rice, all of Hobbs two brothers, Jerry Rice, and wife Vicki, and Tommy Rice, all of Hobbs two sisters, Shirley Rice and Carolyn Rusk, and husband Tommy, all of Hobbs six grandchildren, Austin and Dillon Silvas of Hobbs, Landon and Jayden Hamlett of Hobbs, and Amelia and Jacob Rice of Tucson, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his father, Palmer Rice, and his sister, Judy Jett.
