A memorial service for Jim Love of Hobbs will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Pastor Brad Reimers will officiate. Cremation will take place.
Love, 74, died April 18, 2011, at his home in Hobbs. He was born August 27, 1936, in Lovington. He married Barbara Cooper Love on March 8, 1968, in Anchorage, Alaska.
Jim was a private pilot. He and his family had a lodge in Alaska at one time. He served as president of the Open Range Cowboy Association.
Survivors include his wife Barbara of Hobbs sons, Jimmy W. Love, Jr. of Hobbs and Rick Smith of Camas, WA four daughters, Lisa Palmer of Dennison, TX, Dona Love of Rockville, MD, Patsy Love of Milliken, CO, and Deborah Shoemake of Brush Prairie, WA three brothers, Bobby Love of Graham, TX, Daryl Love of Texas City, TX, and Keyton Love of College Station, TX three sisters, Kaye Smith of Rogers, AR, Janet Duran of Lubbock and Mary Jones of Texas City 13 grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jordan Love his mother Faye Peterson and sister Sandra Crisp.
