Jesse Wayne Long went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ joining his mom and dad and granddaughters, Danielle Renee and Shannon Alexis on November 23, 2014. Jesse Wayne was born on August 8, 1942 in Brownfield, TX to Pauline and Rupert Long.
Jesse Wayne graduated from Hobbs High School in 1960. He furthered his education at Texas Tech University earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Physics. He began his career as an aircraft engineer at Boeing Aircraft Company in Seattle, Washington helping develop the design of the first Boeing 747 with sound acoustics. Then he moved to Burbank, CA to work at Lockheed California Co as an aircraft engineer. Jesse had various careers in his lifetime leading up his recent career as a Real Estate Broker at J. Wayne Long Realty.
Jesse was a very talented artist and poet. He thoroughly appreciated all aspects of Gods creation.
He gave his time to the Masons and Shriners to help the community and underprivileged.
Jesse Wayne Long is survived by his two daughters, Andrea Day and husband Doug, Jessica Dawes and husband Tim including their four boys, TJ, Derrick, Cory and Jesse and sister Bobbie Machado.
He is also survived by his longtime companion Linda Lawrence and his friend and mother of his children, Judy Long.
Service will be held at the Chapel of Hope on Saturday, November 29th at 2PM to be followed by burial at Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Shiners Childrens Hospital.
