Jess Powell

Jess A. Powell, to most known as Allen, died August 14, 2011, at his home in Lorsdburg, NM. He was born December 4, 1955, in Inglewood, CA, to Jess B. and Ruth Powell. He married Linda Roberts in 1977 and had two beautiful children. He married again in 1991 to his high school sweetheart, Kim Watts, and was blessed once more with a child. He received a degree in aviation and opened his own business, Powell Aviation, in the 1990s at Hobbs Airport. If you knew Allen, his love for motorcycles and airplanes was immense.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jess Lee Powell and his parents, Jess B. and Ruth Powell.

Survivors include his daughters, Kristi Delgado of Phoenix, AZ, and Lisa Blake of Surprise, AZ a son, Aaron Powell of Hobbs, NM one sister, Kathy Mitchell and husband David of Hobbs, NM and a niece, Shannon Flowers of Hobbs, NM eight grandchildren and two great nephews.

The family has opened an account, in the name of Kathryn A. Mitchell, for the benefit of Jess Allen Powell at First American Bank, Hobbs, NM. In lieu of flowers, a donation to this account would be greatly appreciated.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
