Jerry Williams

A memorial service for Jerry Jake Williams, 65, of Lovington will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 22, 2010, at Hillcrest Baptist Church with pastor Mack McCarthick officiating. Cremation will take place.

Mr. Williams died October 16, 2010, at his home in Lovington. He was born June 21, 1945, in Elida, New Mexico. He married Joyce Hill Williams on September 24, 1963, in Midland, Texas.

Jake was an avid bingo player. He enjoyed any game with a challenge. He enjoyed telling jokes. Jake gave all his grandchildren, except one, a nickname. He had a great sence of humor.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Williams of Lovington a son, Jerry D. Bo Williams, Jr. of Hobbs two daughters, Jonie Marquez of Lovington and Jerri Shorter and husband Billy of Lovington two brothers, Thomas L. Williams of Hobbs and Herbert Williams of Tyler, Texas five grandchildren, Jacob Copeland, Taylor Williams, Dillan Marquez, Alexis Shorter and Demi Marquez one greatgrandson, Kylan Copeland all grandchildren are from Lovington and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Talmage Freddie Williams daughter, Rita Diane Williams one brother and one sister.
