A funeral service for Jerry Belcher of Hobbs will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Chapel of Hope.
Burial will follow at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Inez Cemetery in Inez, N.M. The VFW Honor Guard will hold the graveside service.
Visitation will be Monday from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mr. Belcher, 72, died June 20, 2008, at Nor-Lea Hospital in Lovington, N.M. He was born Aug. 16, 1935, in Rogers, N.M.
Jerry's work was one of the most important things in life. He loved his family and enjoyed restoring old tractors.
Survivors include a daughshy;ter, Kyna Belcher of Hobbs, N.M.; five brothers, Harold Belcher of Rogers, N.M., Richard Belcher of Moriarity, N.M., Nathan Belcher of Dora, N.M., Tex Belcher of Portales, N.M., and Lloyd Belcher of Houston, Texas; one sister, LaDoris Allison of Portales, N.M.; and his special friend and dog, Buddy.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Oreon and Texas Ola Webb Belcher; and his wife, Mary Belcher.
The Belcher family would like to send a special thank you to Vista Care Hospice; David Camp and Tammy Copeland; Dr. Neumann of Lubbock, Texas; Roxanne Pollack, Debbie Vale, Nate Coudding arid Don Cook; Rita and Jerry McCurter; and Josie Windham.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lance Armstrong Foundation in Austin, Texas.
