Jeanene Cone

Jeanene Cone, 73 of Hobbs went to be with the Lord Monday, September 4, 2006. Services will be Thursday, September 6, 2006 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church with Brother Jimmy Baxley officiating.

Jeanene was born April 2, 1933 in Plainview, Texas to Oscar and Jennie Bell Cox. She was raised in Plainview, TX with her seven siblings until the age of 15. She married Bobby E. Cone on February 5, 1957 in Lovington, NM. In 1958 her only son, Clint, was born. She became a full-time homemaker as Bobby was employed in the oil business. She moved to Hobbs, NM in 1979, where she spent the rest of her years caring for her family. She was a member of First Baptist Church, enjoyed playing golf, and precious time with family.

Jeanene is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband, Bobby E. Cone, a son, Clint Cone of Hobbs, Brothers, Jim Buck Cox and wife, Linda of Tenn., Clinton Cox and wife, Betty of Arkansas, and Jerry Cox and wife, Florence of Alpine, Texas and Joe Mack Cox of Tatum; Sisters, Jan Estees and husband LeRoy of Tatum, NM, and Judy Guarneros and husband, Mike, of Albuquerque, NM. Her grandchildren are Lindsay Stephens and husband, Derek, of Hobbs, Stephanie Cone of Hobbs, Courtney Pilkington of Hobbs and Jennie Cone of Hobbs. She had one great grandchild, Grayson Stephens, of Hobbs. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Nan Cogburn of Texas.
