Janice Carpenter

October 19, 1944 — July 21, 2016

Janice was born in Brownwood, Texas, October 19, 1944. Her father worked for Shell Oil Co. As a child the family lived in many oilfield towns in Eastern New Mexico and West Texas.

Janice and C.A. married at First Baptist Church in Artesia, NM, January 21, 1967. They moved to Hobbs in 1971 and lived there since. C.A. retired from Mid-America Pipeline and Janice worked for Dr. Vemula until 1988. Janice was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and had many loving sisters.

Her mother Ernestine Horton and father, Russell Horton are deceased.

She is survived by her husband, C.A. Carpenter; brothers, Morris Horton of Brownwood, TX and Blake Horton of Brimson, Minn., sisters-in-law; Day Hodge, Bonnie Drrick and Idel Bartlett, and also a large number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
