Funeral services for Jan Wheeler, 68, of Hobbs, will be Thursday, March 10, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Chapel of Hope, officiated by Pastor Millie Miller. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 9, 8 a.m. 6 p.m. at Chapel of Hope, which is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be after services at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Jan died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Lea Regional Hospital. She was born January 22, 1943, in Gorman, Texas. She married Harold Wheeler in 1971. He passed away May 10, 2000. She was a member of New Life Fellowship Church.
Mrs. Wheeler worked at Western Auto for many years. She loved music and was very talented. Jan played the piano, also the guitar and sang. She was always full of love and generous to all. Jan had a great sense of humor and was very hardworking.
Surviving Jan is her daughter, Sabrina Elliott and husband Phill, of Hobbs mother, Minnie Lucille Monsey of Hobbs two brothers, Jerry Monsey of El Paso, TX, and Kenneth J. Monsey of Hobbs sisterinlaw, Wynona Monsey of Stephenville, TX three grandsons, Chad Stinson and wife Susan of Hobbs, Justin Stinson and Ty Elliott both of Hobbs one granddaughter, Cassie Barazza and husband, Josh and six greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Monsey, brother, Jimmy Monsey and sister, Joyce Monsey.
