James Teeter

Funeral Services for James E. Teeter of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Fellowship of Believers with Pastor John Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.

Visitation is 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mr. Teeter 75, died November 13, 2009, at his home in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was born October 17, 1934, in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. He married Virginia Teeter on September 23, 1966, in Hobbs.

James made his living as a self-employed auto mechanic. He worked at the Cardinal plant and retired after working as a custodian at Hobbs High School. When his children were younger, James enjoyed taking them rabbit and bird hunting. He liked watching game shows and wrestling on TV. He also enjoyed farming.

He was a member of Fellowship of Believers.

Survivors include four sons, Windell Jordan of Monahans, Texas, Ronnie and Jeff Teeter of Hobbs, and James Teeter of Deming, New Mexico; two daughters, Sharol Smith of Jal, New Mexico, and Phyllis Teeter of Las Cruces, New Mexico; a brother, Aubrey Teeter and wife Betty of Hobbs; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R. L. and Willie Teeter, and his wife Virginia Teeter, on April 16, 2009.
