James W. Jimmy Nicholson, 57, passed away Saturday, July 27th, 2013 in Lubbock, Texas. Jimmy was born August 9th, 1955 to D. L. Nicholson and Rosie Holpp McPeters in Hobbs, New Mexico. He graduated from Hobbs High School in 1974.
Jimmy worked with KS Electric for the past 25 years. He began as a field hand and worked his way up to become a certified Oil Field Electrician. He finished his career with KS Electric as a Dispatcher for the Company. Jimmy was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles since 1995. Jimmy was easy to get along with and greeted new family and friends with open arms and heart. Jimmy always had a smile on his face and knew how to lift up everyones spirits. Jimmy loved to laugh and spend time with his family and friends. A Cowboys game was never missed
Jimmy met his best friend and bride, B. Alicia Perez, in Hobbs and they married in 1994 in Seminole, Texas. Jimmy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, B. Alicia Sons, Brian Brooke, Jason Angela, Oscar Misty Siblings, Raoul Sandra McPeters, Janie LeRoy Brown, Donna Randy Jones grandchildren, Jordan, Andrew, Ashlyn, Auston, Ethan, Alexandra, and Claire numerous nieces, nephews, and his fourlegged friends Stormy and Bear. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 1st, 2013 at the Christian Center at 10:00am with Pastor Chris Hagard officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31st, 2013 at Chapel of Hope from 8:00am7:00pm with the Family greeting relatives and friends from 5:307:00pm.
Pallbearers are as follows: Moe Bravo, Abe Harper, Eddie Solomon, Phillip Perez, Robert Espinoza and Oscar Espinoza.
Honorary Pallbearers are as follows: Kellie Prieto, Kenny McPeters, Derrick Stahlecker, Nathaniel Calderon, Tony Gonzalez and KS Electric coworkers.
As his friends and family know all so well, Jimmy was an avid Cowboys, Rangers, Longhorns and Hobbs Eagles FootballBasketball fan. The family requests all attending Jimmys Funeral Services to wear anything that reflects the teams mentioned above.
