James Kirkendall

A visitation for James M. Kirkendall, 71, of Hobbs, will be Monday, March 26, 2012, at Chapel of Hope noon to 5:00 p.m. James died March 21, 2012, at Lea Regional Hospital. He was born July 3, 1940, in Eufaula, OK, to William and Cara Kirkendall. brbrJames moved to Hobbs in 1954. He married Ruby Sullens in Hobbs May 5, 1975. For over 20 years he was a heavy equipment operator for the Gandy Corp. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge. James never met a stranger and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.brbrSurviving James is his wife, Ruby, of Hobbs; seven sons; five daughters; two sisters and a brother; thirty grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. brbrPreceding him in death are his parents, a son and a sister.br
