James Johnson

A family gathering for James Harrison Johnson of Hobbs, N.M., will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at Chapel of Hope . Funeral Home. Cremation will take place at a later date.

Mr. Johnson, 72, died Oct. 5, 2007, at his home in Hobbs, N.M. He was. born Dec. 11,1934, in Hartshorne, Okla. He married KathIeen Johnson in 1956, in Hobbs, N.M.

James was a selfemployed welder, working for Acid Engineering in Denver City,Texas, and around the oilfields of southeastern New Mexico for 30 years.

Survivors include his wife Kathleen Johnson of Hobbs, N.M.; a son, Billy Johnson of Alpine, Texas; a daughter, Vickie Fowler of Fort Davis, Texas; two grandsons, Joshua Stinson Fowler of Fort Davis, shy;Texas, and Brandon Johnson of Hobbs, N.M.; a granddaughter, Tiffany Johnson of Hobbs, N.M.; two sisters, Rosie Mae Williams of Mangum, Okla., and Bernice Channell of Modesto, Calif.; six half-sibshy;lings; and numerous nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by both parents, one sister and one brother.
