James Farmer

James Burl Farmer was born December 26, 1940, in Novice, Texas, and died December 15, 2010, in Lubbock, Texas. Cremation will take place.

Burl was a respected business man in downtown Hobbs for over thirty years. He owned and operated Good Housekeeping Shop and later, Farmers Appliance and TV until he retired in 1998. He was a loving spouse to Carol, and a loving father to Ray, Cindy, Clifford, Renee, Rick and Mike.

He is survived by his wife, 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren. Burl is also survived by a brother, Sherrill Farmer of Big Spring, Texas. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie Joe Farmer and sister, Joyce Wilfong.

Burls passions were hunting, fishing, trap shooting and pursuing the outdoor lifestyle. His passing is greatly mourned. God bless and goodbye for now.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions can be made to Hobbs Gun Club, PO Box 2295, Hobbs, NM 88240.
