James Lloyd Chenault was born November 20, 1927, in Rule, TX. He peacefully slipped away to be with Jesus on September 11, 2011, at Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs. Visitation will be at Chapel of Hope Thursday, September 15, 2011, from 6 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at New Hope Baptist Church Friday, September 16, 2011, with graveside to follow at Lovington Cemetery.
As a child, Lloyd lived in Wellman, TX. He graduated from Wellman High School in 1944. He later made a life for himself in the oil production industry starting with Shell and ending up in Hobbs at Arco where he worked as a production foreman until his retirement. Lloyd married Alta Willis October 31, 1975, and together they lived a blessed life. Lloyd was full of mischief and laughter. He loved to fish, travel and play basketball with the grandkids. He is most remembered and respected for his love of family and God. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where for a period of time he taught Sunday school.
Lloyd is survived by his wife Alta Chenault three sons, Lloyd Wayne Chenault, Billy Craig Chenault and wife Keitha, James Glen Chenault a daughter Neda Ann Burrows and husband Billy, grandchildren, Dinah and Ray Tinnell, Brandi and Robert Brister, Christy Chenault, Gary Chenault, Ashley Chenault, Jason and Michelle Chenault, Landon Chenault, Brandon and Sandra Chenault, Michael Paul and Krissy Allen. He had twelve greatgrandchildren and two greatgreatgrandchildren.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Craig and Elsie Chenault a brother, Darvis Chenault a son, Tim Roche and brotherinlaw, Delbert Dyke and a beloved dog, Bullet.
