Jacqueline F. McDaniel (Douglas) of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on July 27, 2022. She was 84 years old. Jackie was born January 26, 1938 in Oklahoma City, OK to Leland and Vera Douglas. She married Denton (Dean) McDaniel on February 16, 1959 in Mississippi. They moved to Hobbs in 1960 and remained here for 62 years. Jackie worked in the Hobbs schools from 1969-1995 as a secretary at Hobbs High, Will Rogers Elementary and College Lane Elementary. She enjoyed the students, made each feel special and could call most by name.
After retirement, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Jackie loved life, enjoyed visiting with people, cooking and eating desserts, working puzzles, reading, playing cards and board games. She checked on her family and friends with texts or calls regularly. She brightened up any person’s life she touched. She was outgoing, caring and fun. She loved her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by one sister, Sandra Morgan and her husband Jim. She leaves behind three children: Doug McDaniel, Janet Evans and her husband Tim and Sherry Longoria. She is, also, survived by her precious grandchildren, Alexa Evans and Ajay Longoria.
The family would like to thank her Doctor, Cyril Simon, and Star Home Health and Hospice Care employees for taking such great care of her. They, also, want to thank, Tami Mitchell, her caregiver for being there with tender loving care when they couldn’t.
