Jack Andrews

January 10, 1925 — June 15, 2015

Jack Edward Andrews born January 10, 1925 to Melvin and Mae Pearl Andrews in Groesbeck, Texas, and passed from this life, June 15, 2015 in Hobbs, NM. He was the oldest of three children. He graduated from Groesbeck High School and later attended University of Houston studying Civil Engineering. He was preceeded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Melvin Andrews.

He married Margaret Corley, December 29, 1945 and they recently celebrated 68 years of marriage.

He served in WWII in the European front in England and France and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sargent. He was a telegraph operator in the Army Air Force flying many missions over enemy territory.
Upon discharge from the military he worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a telegraph operator and later for Humble Oil and Refining. He retired from Metropolitan Insurance. Mr. Andrews was a long time member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ, VFW, and The Life Underwriters.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Andrews of the home, Sister, Virginia Anderson, Corpus Christi, TX - children: Judith Britton of Hobbs, Ed Andrews, Denver, CO, Mark Andrews, Hobbs and Patricia Gangloff, Hobbs. Grandchildren: Jocelyn Britton, Houston, TX, Jeoffrey Meixner, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Marcie Dille, Denver, CO, Paul Andrews, Nederland, CO, Kris Booker, Boulder, CO, and Four Great Grand Children. In lieu of flowers contributions my be made to Jefferson Street Church of Christ.
