J Pruett

A memorial service for Tom Pruett of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at First United Methodist Church. Pastor Darren Skinner will officiate.

Cremation will take place. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Pruett, 74, died July 21, 2010, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was born December 28, 1935, in Portales, New Mexico. He married Ruth Ann Plato on October 21, 1960, in Hobbs.

He was the owner of Pruett Construction and Interiors. He was a avid woodworker. He loved the community of Hobbs and the Hobbs High School football program. Tom mentored many young people in the Hobbs commuinity during his life. He was a loving husband for fifty years and a special Granddan to his beloved grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Pruett of Hobbs son, J. Tom Pruett and wife Carrie of Hobbs two daughters, Sunde Horton of Hobbs and Courtney Martin and husband Lee of Houston, Texas two brothers Art Pruett of Espanola, New Mexico and Jeff Pruett of Plano, Texas six grandchildren, Katie and Seth Horton of Hobbs, Maggie Pruett of Hobbs, Jay and Tory Martin of Houston, Texas, and Erica Martin of Houston, Texas.
