Iva Culver

A funeral service for Iva Jean Culver of Hobbs will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2010, at Trinity Free Holiness Church, 1901 N. French Drive, Hobbs.

Pastor Johnny Lee will officiate, assisted by Rev. Gerald Anderson and Rev. Marcus Campbell, soninlaw. Burial will follow after at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

Visitation was from 5 7 p.m. Monday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.

Culver, 76, died July 30, 2010, at Sebastopol, Mississippi. She was born November 4, 1933, in Brownfield, Texas. She married Grant Culver, Sr. on March 7, 1953, in Eunice. He died December 1, 2009.

Mrs. Culver lived in Hobbs and Eunice all her life. She graduated from Eunice High School in 1952. She was active in the family business, Interstate Batteries. Not only did she love her family, she loved her church family also. She was a member of the Trinity Free Holiness Church.

Survivors include two sons, Grant Culver, Jr. and wife Sheryl of Hobbs, and Darryl Culver and wife, Becky of Hobbs three daughters, Karen Smith of Hobbs, Becky Cottrell and husband, Orville, of Stratford, Oklahoma, and Cindy Campbell and husband, Marcus, of Sebastopol, Mississippi one brother, Steve Barber of Hobbs three sisters, Delores Swartz and husband, Paul of Roswell, Brenda Carter and husband, Jimmy of Rio Rancho, and Wanda Barber of Lovington 19 grandchildren and 34 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grant, Sr. three brothers, James, Glen and Elvin Barber.
