Isidro Olivares Cano was born May 15, 1920 in La Feria Texas to Felesiano and Dolores Cano. He went on to be with the Lord on March 9, 2016 months shy of his 96th birthday. He passed peacefully with his family by his side.
He proudly served in the Army during WWII as a private first class from Feb 20, 1942 till Nov 5, 1945. During his service he was honored with the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal, and Victory Medal.
After his years in the Army as he was returning back to Texas he met the love of his life Maria Gonzales. They married on March 24, 1951. They were happily married for 66 years residing in Hobbs, NM and had two sons. He retired from Dr. Pepper Bottling Company.
Isidro is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Reymundo and sisters: Belen, Ricarda, and Santos.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Maria Cano, two sons Juan and wife Gloria, Martin and wife Vannesa all from Hobbs, six grandchildren: Janell (Charles), Michaela (Dirk), Justin, Brittany all of Hobbs,
Marcella (Miguel) of Rio Rancho, NM and Kayla of Albuquerque, 11 great-grandchildren: Joshua, Cayse, Aisha, Adrien, Dominic, Andrew, Aiden, Josiah, Danny, Eliyana, and one on the way.
