Ignacio Navarro

December 28, 1930 — July 25, 2014

Ignacio Vargas Navarro, 83, was born December 28, 1930 in Zensontre, Chihuahua, Mexico to Agustin and Micaela Vargas Navarro. Ignacio passed away in El Paso, Texas on July 25, 2014.

Ignacio Navarro married Eleuteria Ponce on June 25, 1949 in Juarez, Chihuahua.

Mr. Navarro was a father, husband, and very special grandfather. He will be known for dedicating his life to his family, and service to others and the community. He devoted lots of his time teaching the Word of God, and touched very many lives through his ministry.

He enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing, and spending time with the grandchildren. He enjoyed telling his favorite story about the big fish that got away. There was never a dull moment around Ignacio for he enjoyed life to the fullest. He was one of a kind.

He was our rock, our support and the love of our life. He will forever be missed, but his legacy will live forever.

Mr. Navarro is survived by sons, Vicente Navarro of Hobbs, David Navarro of Lubbock, Texas, Ignacio Navarro, Jr. and Michael Navarro, both of Hobbs daughters, Flora Martinez of Mustang, Oklahoma, Manuela Carrillo of Odessa, Texas, Maria Ramirez and Laura Carrens, both of Hobbs, New Mexico 24 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.

Mr. Navarro was preceded in death by his son, Herrmulindo Navarro. He was also preceded
in death by wife Eleuteria Navarro on July 25, 1996.


A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday July 31, 2014 at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, Hobbs, New Mexico. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday August 1, 2014 at Chapel of Hope, officiated by Father Ruben Romero. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
