Ida Earline Ivy was born on May 2, 1933 to Earnest and Era Kennedy in Winters, Texas and passed from this life on July 23, 2019 in Hobbs, New Mexico. She was the fifth of nine children. Earline attended school in Albany, Texas. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Johnnie Arther; son, Johnny Wayne Arther; daughters, Vanna and Elaine Arther; grandson, Aaron “Brit” Arther, and siblings: Robert Kennedy, Bill Kennedy, John Kennedy, Maxine Hodges, Dorthene Bernstein, Jane Burrow, Eddie Wayne Kennedy, and Gilbert Kennedy.
Earline married the love of her life, Johnnie Arther, on April 15, 1950, and they were married until his death on August 31, 1974. She and Jim Ivy were married on October 14, 1977, and they were blessed with 41 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on January 9, 2019.
She attended Taylor Memorial Baptist Church in Hobbs, NM. She was a kind, forgiving, and faithful Christian woman that loved her family. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her tremendous joy. She enjoyed attending basketball games to show her support for the Hobbs Eagles and Texas Tech Red Raiders. She had a spark for life that is cherished through numerous memories and a great deal of love.
She is survived by her children: Bobby Arther of Hobbs, NM; and Kenneth (Lori) Arther of Roswell, NM. Step-sons: Marty (Lori) Ivy of Harker Heights, TX; Danny (Angela) Ivy of Gibsonburg, OH; Grandchildren: Misty (Keith) Johnson, Brandon (Lisa) Arther, Kristy (Adam) Bell, Jenna Arther, Jennifer Hyland, Casey (Toby) Fisher, Chelsey Ivy, Caitlyn Ivy, Camryn Ivy, Colton Ivy, and Carson Ivy; nine great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
