Ian Mccance

February 25, 1994 — June 23, 2016

Ian Jonathan McCance, 22, was born February 25, 1994 in Hobbs, NM to John and Beth McCance. He passed away June 23, 2016 in Lubbock, TX.

Ian loved to travel, make friends and help others in his own special way. He graduated from Hobbs High School in 2012 and was a student at New Mexico Junior College. He played clarinet in the school band and swam with the high school swim team and was the manager of the high school football team. He attained his Eagle Scout while with the local Boy Scouts of America. He sang Jesus Loves Me during his 1st piano recital at age 5 and placed 2nd during his Piano State Competition at a young age. His summer jobs included working at McDonald's and maintenance at the Jr. College. He chose to complete his 1st semester at NMJC before training with the local National Guard.

Ian is survived by his parents; one brother, Laurence McCance of Dallas, TX, his grandfather ret. Col. Hugo G. Galvez of the Philippines, his uncle W.C. McCance, II, and cousin W.C. McCance, III of Arizona; aunt, Mae R. Galvez of California; uncle, Dr. Joel R. Galvez, aunt, Dr. Claire R. Genuino, and aunts, uncles and cousins of the Philippines, aunt, Dr. Sarah R. and Dr. John Lim, cousins, Dr. Michelle Lim and Brittany Lim of California, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather; W.C. McCance of Arizona, grandmothers, Jean McCance and Thelma R. Galvez and his cousin of the Philippines.

The family wishes to thank all that have helped Ian.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
