Helen Williams was born in rural Blooming Grove,
Texas, May 27, 1926, to Gertrude and Earl Crawford.
She attended Moore school in Waco, Texas. Helen
moved to Hobbs, and met and married Eugene Williams
on July 2, 1950, who preceded her in death. To this
union no children were born.
Helen attended a revival service in 1984, at
Pentecostal Temple C.O.G.I.C., and was filled with the
gift of the Holy Ghost. She was a member of, St. John
Baptist Church, under the direction of Reverend V.J.
Choice Sr. He was such a blessing to her during her
illness. She was a Sunday school teacher, and enjoyed
studying and teaching the word of God. Helen was
honored with a plaque at the 65th church anniversary
for her faithful service.
She was a beautician for fourteen years in Hobbs,
in her own shop. Helen was a nurse aide at Lea General
Hospital a number of years in pediatrics.
Helen was preceded in death by her mother and
father one brother and three sisters. She leaves to
cherish her memory, two devoted nieces, Verna Ruth
Parker of Midwest City, OK., and Gloria Jean James
Berry of Spencer, OK. She also leaves a host of great
nieces and great nephews, and a host of family members
and friends.
Visitation for Helen will be Thursday 85 pm, Friday 87 with family in attendance from 57 pm., and Saturday 89 am.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope.
