Funeral services for Hazel V. Roundtree of Athens, Texas, formerly of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Shook officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery.
Visitation is 2 - 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time at Chapel of Hope with the family in attendance from 6 - 8 p.m. Friday.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Mrs. Roundtree died November 2, 2009, at Southplace Nursing Home in Athens, Texas. She was born December 3, 1921, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She married James W. Roundtree.
Hazel worked for Dr. Jack Kernan for 20 years. She enjoyed quilting. She was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, E. J. Price; her mother, Theresa Price; three brothers, Elvin Price, J. N. Price and Troyce Price; her husband, James W. Roundtree; and a grandson, Kendall L. Ainsworth.
Survivors include a son, Bill Roundtree of Durango, Colorado; four daughters, Thelma Ainsworth of Canton, Texas, Bonnie Scheller of Las Vegas, Nevada, Roxie Sweeney of Kerrville, Texas, and Retha, Cochran of Artesia, New Mexico; a brother, J. R. Price; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
