Hattie Adlong Ward 91, was born to Rosa and Herman Adlong in Goose Creek, Baytown, Texas on November 7, 1921. She died Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Parks Methodist Retirement Village, in Odessa, Texas. She married Ernest Ward October 25, 1941. Hattie was the Ultimate housewife and gardener. She worked in her rose beds and remained independent at her home until a fall at church on Mothers Day.
Hattie is preceded in death by her husband Ernest, infant children Arthur Dewayne and Elizabeth Rose her parents, sister Mary, and brothers Herman, Bill and Johnny.
Those left with cherished memories are her extended family, Carolyn and Norman Raymond, Ernestine Wimberly, Beth and David Allen and many, many others whose friendships she dearly cherished. Her brother Don Adlong and wife Paula of Conway, Arkansas, her caretaking nephews Terry Adlong of Denver, Colorado and Ken Adlong of Odessa, Texas. And, many more nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and greatgreat nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Parks Methodist especially Cynthia Hill and Compass Hospice for their gentle care and kindness during this difficult time. May God Bless you all abundantly.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Harold Armstrong officiating. Burial will be held after services at Prairie Haven Memorial park. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
