Hardy Smith

Hardy Jean Smith, 80, of Hobbs, passed from this life March 19, 2013, in Hobbs. She was born September 8, 1932, in Corum, OK, to Andrew and Callie Liles. Jean enjoyed her grandkids and greatgrand kids, loved the lake house at Possum Kingdom where she enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her spouse, Howard Smith of Hobbs, NM sons, Larry H. Smith, and wife Shauna, of Gainesville, TX, Garry G. Smith, and wife Sarah, of Tulsa, OK daughter, Gayle Lynn Eads, and husband Bobby, of San Diego, CA son, Martin J. Smith, and wife Shannon, of Midland, TX fourteen grandchildren, Audra Smalley, Suzanne Smith, Alison Scott, Riley Gaston, Lindsey Miller, Ashley Eads, Callie Caraballo, Brooke Carpenter, Sierra Eads, Shelley Eads, Shea Smith, Garrett Smith, Molly Smith and Mary Ann Smith nine greatgrandchildren Dillon, Nate and Jackson Eads, Tracy, Nate and Alyson Smalley, Jonah and J.J. Caraballo and Baby Carpenter.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Geraldine Beavers.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Chapel of Hope, with Star Hospice Chaplin Steve Lord officiating, assisted by son Larry Smith. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12 p.m. 6 p.m. March 21, 2013, with the family in attendance to greet friends from 3 p.m. 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. till time of service Thursday, March 22, 2013.
