Gwendolyen (Gwen) M. Hahn (95) was born in Monroe, Louisiana, to Allen and Bonnie Case on January 23, 1926. She went home to be with the Lord on May 15, 2021. Her strong faith in God defined her life. She was an exemplary example of a person of faith, a prayer warrior, and impacted many lives.
Gwen graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1943 and attended Monroe Commercial College. She came to New Mexico to visit family where she met and married Arnold Hahn on April 27, 1946. They were blessed with three children. In 1956 Gwen was employed as the Eunice High School Secretary. After thirty-one years, she retired in 1987.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, her parents, five sisters, and four brothers.
Gwen is survived by two sons: Allen (Jane) and Troy (Alice), one daughter Pam (Dave); and eight grandchildren: Brandy, Sara (Jon), Amanda (Daniel), Beth, Ashley (Brian), Travis, Skipper (Ashley) and David. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Jackson, Bryson, Aidan, Liam, Isabella, Lillian, and Carson and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of Eunice First Baptist Church. She was a member of the National Federation of Grandmother’s Clubs of America. While a member of the local club, she was instrumental in helping to raise $26,000 in scholarships through quilt raffles.
