Gregoria Ramirez

A funeral Mass for Gregoria G. Ramirez of Hobbs will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at St. Helena Catholic Church with Pastor Luis Ruiz and Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating.

Burial will follow after services at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.

A Christian service will also be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Tuesday 8 a.m. 8 p.m. and Wednesday 8 a.m. noon at Chapel of Hope which is charge of arrangements.

Ramirez, 87, died March 13, 2010, at her home in Hobbs. She was born May 19, 1922, in Loma Alta Ranch, Texas. She married Francisco R. Ramirez on May 26, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing bingo and taking care of her family, working in the fields, picking cotton and gardening.

She was of the Catholic faith and associated with Vida Nueva Church.

Survivors include her husband of the home four sons, Neo Ramirez and wife Rosie of Hobbs, Rene Ramirez and wife Antonia of Hobbs, Adam Ramirez and wife Irma Jean of Dallas, Texas, David Ramirez and wife Irma of Hobbs two daughters, Nora Hinojosa and husband Rolando of Hobbs and Edith Ramirez Quiroz and husband Richard of Hobbs 28 grandchildren 42 greatgrandchildren eight greatgreatgrandchildren.

Gregoria was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters and several nieces and nephews.
