Glenn Hibbens

October 1, 1939 — July 19, 2016

Glenn Darrell Hibbens, 76, was born October 1, 1939 in Wilbarger County, Texas to V. N. and Opal Hibbens. He passed away on July 19, 2016 in Hobbs, NM.

Glenn worked on a farm with his father and brother most of his life. After he graduated from high school he went to work for Texaco and worked there for 34 years and then retired. After he retired from Texaco he went to work for Univar and worked there about 10 years.

Glenn loved his work so much and if he had not ended up with Alzheimer's he would still be working. If Glenn was not working, he was on the golf course playing golf. He loved the game of golf and taught his wife how to play and together they played golf whenever and wherever they could.

He loved spending time with his family. Glenn's family meant so much to him. He loved them all dearly.

He was a wonderful Christian man and he belonged to Fairmont Park Church of Christ where he loved to teach. Glenn and his wife taught children's bible classes for about 40 years together.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Lynette Hibbens of Hobbs, NM; daughter, Tammie Baker (Paul Baker), Glenda Bertola (Barry Bertola); grandchildren, Sara Farrar (Brandon), Josh Baker, Garrett Bertola (Amanda), and Austin Bertola (Lexie); three great-grandchildren, Tuff, Tripp, and Margo; his brother Gene Hibbens (Carolyn) of Conroe, TX, sister; Carolyn Roark (Jim) of Willis, TX and sister, Reba Hutchins (Nick) of Vernon, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
