Geraldine Jackson

Geraldine (Jerry) Jackson, 89, passed away on February 5, 2021 in Midlothian, Texas.


Jerry was born in Sagerton, Texas to Grady and Belle Foust on July 14, 1931. In 1945 the family moved to Artesia, New Mexico where Jerry met and married J. D. Jackson.   They were married for 64 years until  J. D.’s death in 2010.


Jerry and J. D. moved to Hobbs in 1950 and to Jal in 1955. Jerry was a housewife and active member of First Baptist Church Jal where she served as a Sunday School teacher and nursery coordinator as well as numerous other positions.  She and J. D. became members of Calvary Baptist Church on February 6, 2006 and continued to serve there.  Jerry loved to knit or crochet items to donate to Operation Christmas Child. Jerry’s favorite scriptures were Jeremiah 33:3, 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Hebrews 9:27.

Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Belle, her husband J. D., son Keith and daughter Bobbie.Jerry is survived by son Kenneth (Sondra) of Midlothian, Texas; daughter in law Diane Jackson of Alexander, AR; Three nieces, Nancy Trussell (Roy) of Rochester, TX, Mary Blair (Andy) of Sudan, TX and Sandy Degler of Las Cruces, NM. Grandchildren Brian Stearmer, Juliet Stevens, Jason Stearmer, Melanie Stewart, James Jackson and Shelly Jackson, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
