A funeral mass for George Serrano, Jr. 38, of Hobbs will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at St. Helena Catholic Church. Burial will follow after services at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Rosary will be Tuesday, February 15, at 6 p.m. at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 3 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, at Chapel of Hope.
Serrano died February 12, 2011, at Odessa Medical Center in Odessa. He was born August 15, 1972, in Carlsbad.
He married Rosie Martinez in Hobbs on March 15, 2006.
George worked as an assistant manager at LaTienda until the time of his death. He liked spending time with his children and family. George loved his Roosters as much as the little rascals. He took pride in his Nobody cars and trucks. He was a hard worker. His main goal in life was to protect and provide for the family. If you knew George, you could be assured that he would give anyone the shirt off his back and he would be a friend for life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was a member of St.Helena Catholic Church.
He is survived by his parents George and Sylvia Serrano of Hobbs three sons, Israel Chato and Noel Serrano of Hobbs and Steven Velasques of Hobbs four daughters, Brianna, Julie, Destiny and Diana Serrano of Hobbs brother, Solome Serrano and wife, Erika, of Hobbs two grandchildren, Aniya and Alijah Rodriquez of Hobbs nephew Arick Serrano of Hobbs niece, Yenesis Serrano of Hobbs numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
George was preceded in death by his wife Rose Serrano, son Brandon Serrano on April 7, 1997 paternal grandparents, Solome and Julia Serrano.
