Geneva, 94, formally of Hobbs, was born June 3, 1912 in Robinson, Texas. She was the daughter of Gilbert and Viola Dixon-Miller.
Geneva moved to Hobbs in 1950 and lived here until her illness in May 2000, when she moved to Fort Worth, Texas. She was affectionately known as Bigmama by her family and friends. She was a practicing licensed beautician for over 40 years. She owned and operated the Personality Beauty Shop.
Geneva was active in NAACP, Eastern Star, N.M. Voters Registration and Lovely Ladies Federated Art Club. She was two-time past president of National Association of Colored Womens Club and a faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
She leaves to mourn and cherish her memories: brother Willer Miller of Seattle, Washington, two sisters Coeta Poster of LA; and Elnora Smarr of Waco, Texas. Her grandchildren included; Wilma, Sheila, Johnny, Candy, Reggie, Gigi and Delvin Jackson; all of Fort Worth, Texas; Debbie and husband Joe Gray of Fort Worth, Texas; Derrick Jackson Sr. of Denver, Colo; Donnie and wife Maggie Jackson of Hobbs, NM, Lisha and husband Bobby Clemons of Austin, Texas; Scott Jackson of Dallas, Texas and Vanessa Smith of Austin, Texas. She also had numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were both her parents, three brothers, one sister, husband Aubrey Wallace, son Herman Jackson Jr., daughter Ella Mae Jackson-Horne, two grandsons Stevie Jackson and Herman Val Jackson and one great-granddaughter Tundala Dinky Jackson.
