Gary Don Kemp, 60, of Hobbs, NM passed away from natural causes on Monday, September 12, 2016. He was born September 14, 1955 in Snyder, TX to Charles and Thelma Kemp.

Gary was a 1973 Hobbs High School graduate and also attended New Mexico Junior College and New Mexico State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. After college he worked for Technical companies both domestically and internationally designing defense satellite systems. Since March 17, 2008 Gary has worked at Urenco as a Senior Transport Planner and he was one of the company's first employees. He was passionate about his work and considered his work family, his second family. Gary was funny, sarcastic and a jokester. He was a pianist and enjoyed music and was a lifelong member of Northside Baptist Church, now known as Crosswinds Community Church.

Gary is survived by his mother Thelma Kemp of Hobbs, one brother Ronnie Kemp of Waxahachie, TX, one sister; Donna Davis (married to Larry Davis) of Ft. Worth, TX, nephews; Barry Davis of Ft. Worth, TX, Bert Davis of Ft. Worth, TX and Lou Davis of Bridgeport, TX, Nieces; Staci Evans and Amy Warner (married to Clyde Warner) of Ft. Worth, TX, grandnieces; Shania Warner, Khloe Warner, and Tristyn Evans of Ft. Worth, TX. In addition Gary is survived by his uncle and aunts; Eugena and Mary Jo Varner of Hobbs, Margaret Graham and Lucy King both of Lubbock, TX and numerous cousins.

Gary was preceded in death by his dad, Charles Kemp in 2012.
