Francisco "Chito" Ramirez, 93, was born May 28, 1922 in San Diego, Texas to Valentin & Eliza Ramirez. He passed away April 9, 2016 in Hobbs, NM. He married Gregoria Guerrero on May 26, 1946 in Corpus Christi, TX. They moved from Corpus to Hobbs in 1967.
Chito loved playing his accordion in the praise and worship team. He ministered wherever he was needed. He loved having his family around. Chito loved crushing cans, recycling metal and wrapping coins, and coin collecting. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching sports. Chito served in the Army and battled in Northern France, Ardennes Rhieland Central Europe. He received the American Theater Campaign Medal, the EAME Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, the Good conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a true "American".
He is survived by his son Neo Ramirez and daughter-in-law, Rosie ; daughter, Nora Hinojosa and son-in-law Rolando Hinojosa; son, Rene Ramirez and daughter-in-law Antonia Ramirez all of Hobbs; son, Adam Ramirez and daughter-in-law Irma Jean Ramirez of Dallas, TX; son, David Ramirez and daughter-in-law Irma Ramirez and daughter Edith Ramirez Quiroz and son-in-law Richard Quiroz all of Hobbs, NM, 25 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren, and his companion pup, Chico-boy.
Chito was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gregoria; 3 brothers, Mac, Adolfo and Ventura Ramirez and one sister Inez Lucio.
