Funeral services for Florence Maness of Hobbs, N.M., will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor CIay Martin officiating.

Burial will follow at Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Maness, 96, died May 6, 2008, in Hobbs, N.M. She was born June 12, 1911, in Brownwood, Texas. She marshy;ried Dois Maness on July 6, 1972, in Roswell, N.M. He passed away Feb. 11, 2008.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, past Noble Grand, Rebekahs, The Hobbs Women's Club, Black and Gold Grandmothers Club and Lea County Oil Wives. She enjoyed traveling with the Airstream Club.

She was a member of Jefferson St. Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, James and Helen Shults of Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter and son-in-law, Willie and Herbert Hicks of Ruidoso, N.M.; a stepdaughter and son-shy;in-law, Shirley and McCoy Kerley of Hobbs, N.M.; her sisshy;ters, Goldene Livingstone of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Frankie Armstrong of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, J. Frank and Willie; a grandson, Kevin Shults; her brothers, Oral, Truman, Lawrence and Cecil Davis; and her husbands, Raymond Shults and Dois Maness.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Portales Children's Home.
