A memorial service for Evelyn S. Matlock of Hobbs will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, At First United Methodist Church.
Pastor Darren Skinner will officiate. Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation.
Services are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Matlock, 100, died June 15, 2010, at NorLea Hospital in Lovington. She was born November 16, 1909, in Dickson, Tennessee. She married Lloyd Matlock.
Evelyn was owner and operator of Hillsboro Beauty Shop for 50 years in Nashville, Tennessee. She lived in Nashville for 93 years before moving to Hobbs to be with her family eight years ago. Evelyn was a wonderful cook, loved her family and was very interested in politics. She enjoyed life for 100 years.
She was a member of Hillsboro Church of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee.
Survivors include three granddaughters, Cindy Stout of Hobbs, Linda Squires of Hobbs and Susan King of Forth Worth, Texas one grandson, Randall Marshall of Albuquerque and 11 greatgrandchildren.
Evelyn was preceded in death by husband Lloyd Matlock and daughter Ann Marshall.
Memorial contributions may be made to Palmer Drug Abuse Program, 500 N. Dalmont, Hobbs, New Mexico 88240.
