alignjustifyGraveside services for Eva Joyce Baker of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held 10 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2009, at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery with Minister Terry McKean officiating.

alignjustify Visitation is 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home and 8-8:30 a.m. Monday.

alignjustifyArrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

alignjustifyMrs. Baker, 77, died September 10, 2009, at Lakeview Northgate Nursing Home in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

alignjustifyShe was born May 15, 1932, in McLean, Texas. She married Billy Gene Baker on November 22, 1946, in Littlefield, Texas.

alignjustifyEva had many hobbies. She enjoyed cooking, bingo, working with. crafts and traveling. Her special place to visit was Ruidoso where she especially enjoyed the mountains and trees. Her family was her greatest joy.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, Ricky Baker and wife Caroline of Alto, New Mexico, Lonnie Baker of Kerrville, Texas, and Michael Baker and wife Linda of Hobbs; a daughter, Janice Jackson and husband Larry of Carlsbad; a sister, Bertie Ruth Dickson of Austin, Texas; a brother, Owen Preston of Hobbs; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

alignjustifyEya was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Baker in July 2000; her parents, Lonnie and Lorene Preston; a sister, Eloise Malone; and a brother, Orvil Preston.
