Eursha was the second child of 11 children born to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Johnson in Crockett, TX, on May 23, 1925. She passed from this life March 17, 2013, in Hobbs.
In 1952, she moved to Hobbs, with her only child, Shirley Louise Terrell McCoy. She met then married the love of her life, Curtis Joe Hill on June 17, 1960. They were married for over 40 years. Alongside her husband, they worked tirelessly in the community. She worked from childhood until 2008. Eursha was always doing something for her family, loved ones and for anyone she could help in one way or the other. She took in several people helping, feeding and raising them.
She was a very classy lady showing class in her dress and all she did. Eursha was a licensed beautician and she loved doing hair. She was an active member of the Lovely Ladies an adopted grandmother for Head Start active in her church Pleasant Green Baptist Church serving where she was needed.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Joe and Ellen Johnson daughter, Shirley Louise Terrell husband, Curtis Joe Hill 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Eursha leaves behind to cherish her memory 3 sons, Ricky Hill of the home in Hobbs, Elvis Rice of Killeen, TX, and Raymond Johnson 2 daughters, Christine Hill of Odessa, TX, and Valerie Griffin of Dallas, TX a host of grand, greatgrand and greatgreatgrandchildren a brother and 3 sisters several nieces, nephews and cousins and many people that she called special friends and friends.
The family would like to acknowledge and give a big THANK YOU to Heritage Oak Health Care of Lubbock, TX, Hobbs Health Care in Hobbs, NM and Lea Regional Hospital in Hobbs.
Funeral services for Eursha will be 11:00 a.m. March 21, 2013, at Pleasant Green Baptist Church with Pastor J. W. Cook presiding. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 8 a.m. 6 p.m. Wednesday and 8 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements.
