Born to the late Augusta and Edna Combs on June 20,1925 in Corsicana, Texas. Ethel Mae moved to Hobbs, New Mexico in 1944, and united with the Ebenezer Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. F.W. Wells.
Working as a domestic worker for several prominent families here in the city of Hobbs Ethel Mae contributed to the success of many.
She was a long-time member of the Eastern Star, Lovely Ladies, Manhattan Social Club and the Creative Study Club. She will be best remembered as a person filled with an abundant joy and friendliness.
