Estella Mae Collum, 80, of Hobbs, New Mexico, died Saturday, April 3, 2010. Mrs. Collum was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Nona and Morris Mapp on December 17, 1929. She moved to Monument, NM, with her family where she attended school from the 5th grade until she graduated from Monument High School. She met and then married W.E. Red Collum on July 17, 1947, in Monument and then the two of them moved to Hobbs that same year.
She became a member of the Fellowship of Believers Church where she loved the Lord deeply. She was a devoted employee for K.L. Towle Trucking and Construction for 37 plus years.
Survivors included a daughter, Linda Tabor a granddaughter, Lori Curry a greatgranddaughter, McKenzy Curry a sister, Ruby Thomas brothersinlaw and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral services for Mrs. Collum will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 8, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Dave Dave Matkins officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 7, 2010, 8 a.m. 6 p.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.
Burial services will be mausoleum side at 3 p.m. CST Thursday, April 8, 2010, at the Rest Lawn Cemetery in Wolfforth, Texas.
Preceding her in death was her husband, W.E. Red Collum.
Funeral services are under the direction of Chapel of Hoper Funeral Home.
